How to Install Your Free SSL Certificate Print

  • 1

All JFOCloud hosting plans include a FREE SSL certificate. SSL secures your website with HTTPS and shows the padlock icon in the browser, essential for trust and Google rankings.

MOST ACCOUNTS HAVE SSL AUTO-INSTALLED.
Check if SSL is already active by visiting
https://yourdomain.com: if you see a padlock icon and https:// in the address bar, your SSL is already working.

IF SSL IS NOT YET INSTALLED:

METHOD 1 — AutoSSL (Automatic — Try This First):
1. Log in to your cPanel
2. Scroll to the "Security" section
3. Click "SSL/TLS Status"
4. Click "Run AutoSSL"
5. Wait 5–10 minutes and check your site

METHOD 2 — Let's Encrypt via cPanel:
1. Log in to your cPanel
2. Go to Security → SSL/TLS
3. Click "Manage SSL Sites"
4. Under "Install an SSL Website" select your domain
5. Click "Autofill by Domain"
6. Click "Install Certificate"

FORCING HTTPS (IMPORTANT):
After SSL is installed, force all visitors to use the secure HTTPS version:

For WordPress sites:
1. Go to WordPress Admin → Settings → General
2. Change both URLs from http:// to https://
3. Install the "Really Simple SSL" plugin
for automatic redirects

For non-WordPress sites:
Add this to your .htaccess file in File Manager:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301]
