How to Create a Backup of Your Website Print

Creating regular backups of your website is one of the most important things you can do as a website owner. A backup means that if anything goes wrong, your website can be fully restored.

JFOCloud performs automated daily backups on all plans. However, we strongly recommend you also create your own manual backups regularly.

HOW TO CREATE A FULL BACKUP IN CPANEL:

1. Log in to your cPanel
2. Scroll to the "Files" section
3. Click "Backup Wizard"
4. Click "Back Up"
5. Click "Full Backup"
6. Under "Backup Destination", select
"Home Directory"
7. Enter your email address to be notified
when the backup is complete
8. Click "Generate Backup"

The backup will be created and saved in your home directory. You can download it to your computer from the File Manager.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD YOUR BACKUP:
1. Go to cPanel → File Manager
2. Navigate to your home directory
3. Find the backup file (it will be a .tar.gz file)
4. Right click → Download

HOW TO RESTORE FROM A BACKUP:
1. Go to cPanel → Backup Wizard
2. Click "Restore"
3. Select what you want to restore
(Home Directory, MySQL Databases, or Email)
4. Upload your backup file
5. Click "Restore"

IMPORTANT:
Store your backup file in a safe place outside your hosting account on your computer, Google Drive or an external hard drive.
